Church Tech Guy
Today is Sunday, and that means Church. Being a Church Tech Guy, I get to use Technology to share our church’s message to broadcast around the world. We currently broadcast live on Facebook, YouTube, our Website, Twitch, and in our App. My team and I also update the webpage and all our social media pages. Technology has made spreading the word much easier than it used to be.
Leveraging Tech
Technology has made communication with congregants much easier too. Text blasts, Social Media, Webpages and email has made communicating quick and easy. But there has to be a balance between the sometimes craziness of social media, versus using it to share our vision and message to reach people. The most important thing is spreading the message of the Gospel. As a Church Tech Guy, I much weigh the questions: “How much is too much?” versus “Are we doing enough?”.
To answer those questions, you must figure out a few things. What works for your church, your area, and the people you are reaching or wanting to reach. What works in my town may not work in yours. If your church is full of older people, you may not be able to leverage as much tech as a church full of Twenty-somethings. But as a Church Tech Guy, I still get to have fun and use my talents and technology for the good work of spreading the message of our church and of Jesus, and that is something that I look forward to every week.
Are you a Church Tech Guy too?
What about you? Do you leverage technology towards any mission or vision that you believe in? Do you think that a Church Tech Guy or Gal should use everything they know about Technology and media to spread the Gospel? Let me know what you think! I welcome your comments.
